The Competition Cooling System was born from careful observation of the real needs of the sport horse. During training and competition, horses find themselves moving from the cool comfort of the stable to working conditions that quickly promote overheating, particularly in the back area covered by the saddle pad. Already in the first few minutes of warming up, this phenomenon causes discomfort, thermal stress, and a decline in performance.
The CCS has been designed to counteract overheating and ensure optimal well-being conditions:
actively thermoregulating the horse's back;
preventing discomfort, heat stroke and exhaustion;
providing a fresh massage thanks to the natural phase change of the cooling insert.
The idea took shape in 2022, and over the next two years, we dedicated all our energy to finding the best materials, developing a reliable system, and collaborating with highly qualified partners.
The result is an innovative, safe, and durable product, designed to accompany every horse—in training or competition—offering comfort, well-being, and consistent performance in every season.

Horses receive a great deal of attention before and after the race: they are cared for, kept cool in the stables, and covered in winter to protect them from the cold. Yet, during competition, when exertion and body heat increase, the risk of overheating is often underestimated.
Imagine preparing your horse with the utmost care before a competition: a ventilated stall, fresh water always available, maybe even a refreshing shower. Yet, when it's time to compete, we expose him to extreme heat, with no protection from overheating. Isn't that contradictory?
Horses, like all living beings, generate heat during physical activity. But unlike us, they have a less efficient thermoregulation system, especially in humid weather. During training or competition, their body temperature can rise above 40°C, a critical level that can lead to dehydration, collapse, and even death from heatstroke. Yet, in the winter we protect his kidneys with a blanket... why doesn't anyone think to protect him from the heat in the summer?
This is a clear contradiction, considering that extreme heat is one of the main causes of performance decline and, statistically, causes more deaths in horses than cold.
From this awareness was born the Competition Cooling System, the innovative solution for keeping the horse in the best condition even under thermal stress, ensuring comfort and optimal performance in competition.

Horse Wings ' COMPETITION COOLING SYSTEM has been tested and approved by Professor Francesca Beccati, a lecturer and researcher at the Veterinary University of Perugia . According to her studies, an effective solution for cooling horses during competitions is essential to prevent premature fatigue, dehydration, and heat stroke, thus ensuring safety and maximum performance.
